Eli's Second Week

Well, it has been a whole 14 days since Eli was born. Time is flying by fast. I'm still on paternity leave (woo hoo), although I'll probably need to work a couple days this week.

Eli has been doing very good. He's still eating well, and has gotten back up to his birth weight. His pediatrician thinks everything is coming along great. He also lost his bellybutton stump last night in his sleep. It's nice to be able to fully wrap the diapers around him!

We actually had some visitors this week. We got to see Amy and Josh from Pennsylvania, Jen and Dan from Maryland, and Eric from Ashburn. Our neighbors Ryan and Jessica were finally well enough recovered from their colds to also stop by. It was good to see our friends and share our adorable new son with them.

This week Lucas has come down with a cold. He's got a runny nose and has a terrible cough. We have gotten him some antibiotics, and hope he starts feeling better soon. On the other hand, he has used his first four-word sentence, "Me like paw boots". And shortly after said another, "Me drive blue car". That along with his counting up to five has Alicia and I very impressed.

Eli's Arrival Home

We arrived at home today. Alicia's super-healing skills were put to the test, and she passed. We technically had another day to stay at the hospital, if we chose to, but we all wanted to go home. Lucas was asleep when we got home, but seemed delighted that we were all there after he woke from his nap. Lucas has not seemed to be jealous at all, but we were all giving him plenty of attention today. Hopefully this situation lasts. We hope to see you all soon.

Eli Jonas has Arrived

In case you hadn't heard, our family was blessed yesterday with the birth of our second child, Eli Jonas. Eli was born at 10:47am and was 7lbs 14oz and 21" long. Following surgery, both Mom and Eli are doing great! Here are a few pictures of our little one over the past two days. Hope you enjoy!

Lucas' First Haircut

Well, he's over 19 months old, so it was finally time to break down and give him a haircut -- although his mother was reluctant to let loose of his curls. Enjoy the photos of his first haircut (another 19 months to go until the next one).

Halloween 2008

Lucas had a good Halloween. We had a couple different parties with our playgroups and we had fun trick-or-treating. We didn't actually trick-or-treat, but we did visit a couple of friends here in Ashburn. Lucas liked seeing all the other kids dressed up and tried to chase them all down the street. The last couple of months

Sorry we haven't blogged lately. Lucas is doing really well. He's going to be a pirate for Halloween. Hopefully we'll get some good pictures to show. Lucas is sleeping through the night now and has been for about a month. It took a long time to get to that point, but he is doing really well now. He takes a good nap everyday too.
